What We Focus On
At Future Forward Impact, our work is grounded in a simple belief: systems change should produce visible, measurable improvements in people’s lives.
While our engagements span health systems, philanthropy, and community organizations, our impact consistently concentrates in four areas where gaps are most persistent—and where coordinated action creates the greatest return.
FOCUS AREA 01
WOMEN’S & MATERNAL HEALTH
We support efforts to improve outcomes for women across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care by strengthening the systems that serve them. This includes aligning health plans, community providers, and doulas so that care is not only covered—but actually accessible, coordinated, and sustained.
FOCUS AREA 02
YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT & EDUCATION
FFI believes that investing in youth is an act of health equity. We work with organizations and partners to build stronger, more connected pathways for youth success. Young people from under-resourced communities face compounding barriers to educational achievement and economic mobility — barriers that have direct downstream effects on lifelong health outcomes. Our work includes improving how programs are designed, funded, and evaluated so that young people are not navigating disconnected systems, but supported ecosystems of opportunity.
FOCUS AREA 03
ACADEMIC MENTORSHIP & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Future Forward Impact (FFI) serves as a practicum and Applied Practice Experience (APE) site for Master of Public Health (MPH) students, providing hands-on learning opportunities grounded in real-world public health strategy, community engagement, and systems change.
Through this work, FFI partners with universities and emerging public health professionals to bridge the gap between academic training and practical application; offering mentorship, project-based learning, and exposure to the complexities of policy, funding, program implementation, and cross-sector collaboration.
FOCUS AREA 04
RACIAL EQUITY
Meaningful racial equity work requires acknowledging the systems, policies, and historical conditions that continue to shape present-day outcomes in communities across the country. Many of today’s disparities in health, education, housing, economic opportunity, and community safety did not emerge by chance-they are connected to generations of structural inequity, disinvestment, and exclusion that have disproportionately impacted Black communities and other historically marginalized populations.
At Future Forward Impact (FFI), we believe that sustainable solutions must be grounded in an honest understanding of both systemic barriers and historical trauma. Naming these realities is not about revisiting the past without purpose; it is about recognizing how history influences present-day access, trust, opportunity, and community well-being.
LET’S MOVE COMMUNITIES FORWARD TOGETHER
Future Forward Impact partners with organizations, leaders, and communities committed to creating measurable, people-centered change. From strategic consulting and program development to community partnerships and health equity initiatives, we help turn vision into meaningful impact through thoughtful strategy, collaboration, and action.
